Child Early Intervention
Amar Seva Sangam has played a pioneering role in rehabilitating children with developmental delays and disabilities through family-centred rehabilitation, community-based services and technology-enabled support, empowering children, families and rehabilitation teams.
Early support. Stronger families. Faster inclusion.
Early intervention makes an important difference for children experiencing delays in physical, cognitive, communication, sensory, behavioural, emotional and social development.
Amar Seva Sangam has provided early intervention and child rehabilitation services through its Enabling Inclusion® programme since 2014.
The model brings rehabilitation closer to families by connecting trained community rehabilitation workers, parents and caregivers with physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech and communication professionals, special educators and other specialists.
Digital technology supports assessment, individualised planning, intervention, progress monitoring, communication and continuity of rehabilitation.

Learn more ↓Screening & Developmental Assessment
Early identification enables children with potential developmental delays or disabilities to access appropriate rehabilitation and developmental support at the earliest possible stage.
The programme uses structured screening, assessment and evaluation processes to understand each child's development, abilities, functional needs and priorities.
Amar Seva Sangam works closely with government health professionals and Anganwadi workers to support early identification through community-based screening.
Baseline assessment provides the rehabilitation team and family with a clear understanding of the child's current abilities and needs, supporting the development of appropriate goals and an individualised intervention plan.
- Developmental screening
- Functional and developmental assessment
- Identification of strengths and support needs
- Family priorities and goal setting
- Periodic review and outcome monitoring
Individualised Intervention
The Enabling Inclusion® App facilitates individualised treatment planning by assigning each child's specific developmental and functional needs to the appropriate rehabilitation professionals.
This enables tailored interventions rather than a one-size-fits-all approach.
Rehabilitation specialists guide trained community rehabilitation workers and families in carrying out appropriate activities at home, in community centres and other accessible settings.
Depending on the child's needs, intervention may involve:
- Physiotherapy
- Occupational Therapy
- Speech, language and communication support
- Special education
- Self-care and activities of daily living
- Behavioural and psychosocial support
- School readiness and participation
- Assistive devices
Progress is periodically reviewed so that goals and interventions can be modified according to the child's development.
Rehabilitation closer to the family.
One of the central principles of Enabling Inclusion® is making rehabilitation more accessible to families who find regular travel to specialist centres difficult.
By bringing services closer to communities, the programme reduces the burden and stress on parents while enabling them to pursue their livelihoods with fewer interruptions.
Trained community rehabilitation workers deliver interventions close to the family, with guidance and supervision from rehabilitation specialists.
Depending on the programme and location, services may be provided through:
- Home-based rehabilitation
- Community-based centres
- Early Intervention Centres
- Schools and other community settings
- Institution-based rehabilitation where required
Amar Seva Sangam's Community-Based Rehabilitation model combines 22 rehabilitation centres with outreach services, including home-based interventions, bringing rehabilitation closer to children and families in their communities.

Parents and caregivers are active partners in the rehabilitation process rather than passive recipients of services.
Families are supported to understand their child's developmental needs, participate in meaningful goal setting and carry out appropriate rehabilitation activities as part of everyday family routines.
The programme supports parents and caregivers through key areas of family-centred rehabilitation:
- Family-centred goal setting
- Parent and caregiver training
- Home-based rehabilitation guidance
- Access to therapy plans and activities
- Monitoring the child's progress
- Communication with rehabilitation teams
Strengthening family knowledge and confidence helps rehabilitation continue beyond individual therapy sessions and supports the child's participation in everyday life.
Assistive and Adaptive Technology
Appropriate assistive technology can help children and persons with disabilities improve functioning, independence, communication and participation.
The Enabling Inclusion® programme supports identification of assistive technology needs and facilitates access to appropriate assistive products.
Amar Seva Sangam has a full-fledged Orthotics and Prosthetics Centre that designs and manufactures customised assistive devices based on each individual's abilities, functional needs, environment and participation goals.
The process includes:
- Identification of assistive technology needs
- Professional assessment where required
- Customised design and manufacture of appropriate devices
- Training for children and caregivers
- Follow-up to support effective functional use
The Backbone of the Programme: Enabling Inclusion® App
The Enabling Inclusion® App, designed and developed by Amar Seva Sangam, is a digital case-management platform that supports the complete rehabilitation life cycle.
It supports services from early identification and assessment through intervention, monitoring and follow-up.
The app connects community rehabilitation workers, rehabilitation specialists, families and programme management teams while maintaining structured information about each beneficiary's rehabilitation journey.
Depending on programme configuration, the digital platform supports:
- Beneficiary enrolment and case management
- Screening and assessments
- Individualised goal setting
- Intervention and therapy planning
- Therapy delivery and activity implementation
- Scheduling and follow-up
- Progress and outcome tracking
- Family participation
- Programme monitoring and reporting
Technology supports the service-delivery model without replacing the human relationship between the child, family, community worker and rehabilitation professional.
The platform enables local delivery with central governance, helping ensure efficient therapy delivery, monitor productivity and outcomes and strengthen overall service quality.
