Inspired by a vision for social forestry.
Amar Seva Sangam associates the Rehab Orchard with the inspiration received from Bharat Ratna Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, whose encouragement regarding social forestry strengthened the organisation's vision for combining environmental responsibility with social development.
The Rehab Orchard was subsequently developed as a living expression of rehabilitation, inclusion and environmental stewardship.

Amar Seva Sangam's Rehab Orchard is a five-acre initiative developed as an inclusive environment for rehabilitation, learning, recreation and engagement with nature.
The orchard provides opportunities for persons with disabilities, particularly children and those requiring sensory and developmental support, to engage with plants, trees and natural surroundings through meaningful outdoor activities such as yoga and gardening.
Beyond rehabilitation, the initiative also promotes skill development, environmental awareness, social forestry and sustainable use of natural resources.

The Rehab Orchard provides an outdoor environment where persons with disabilities can engage with different natural sights, sounds, textures, smells and activities.
Children and persons requiring developmental support have weekly visits to the rehabilitation orchard under the supervision of special educators and occupational therapists.
These visits provide structured opportunities for sensory exploration, communication, attention, movement and meaningful participation.
Activities can be adapted according to individual ability and rehabilitation goals, making the orchard an additional environment for learning and participation beyond conventional indoor settings.
Skill Development & Livelihood
The Rehab Orchard has also been conceived as a space for practical skill development and meaningful livelihood-related activities for persons with disabilities.
Participation can provide opportunities to develop routine, responsibility, work habits and practical skills through appropriate activities connected with plants and orchard maintenance.
Depending on individual abilities and programme requirements, activities may support:
